Last night 22 August, 2012was all fun and smiles for all blacks in Brasilia, for both the Africans in Brasil and Black Brasilians there were people from all over Brasil at the concert, coming together to share in the spirit of Blackness and the love and pride of being black. The event was truly the reflection of how we may have different Shades Of  Black but also one Heritage. Celebrating 24years of anniversary in surpporting Black Heritage and people in Brasil PALMARES FUNDAÇÃO CULTURAL has made it's mark and has been the voice for the voiceless proudly black skinned in Brasil. ZUMBIE DOS PALMARES was the name of the 1st black Brasilian that fought for freedom from slavery, He is the symbol of the beginning of freedom for black Brasilian and in 1995, the date of his death was taken as the day of Black Consciousness. Well bring you more on Zumbie Dos Palmares on our History page soon, this is a history we should all know!
